What is Rx Verification?

Rx Verification is a process that verifies if lenses are safe for your eyes. This is a process that all customers from the US must go through, due to FCLCA regulations.

How does it work?

Here at Funky Lenses, we have a fast, simple process that allows you to complete your Rx Verification in a matter of minutes. Simply place your order, and at checkout, you will be given the opportunity to select your optician from a list. Once your order is processed, an automatic request will go out to your prescriber, asking for a confirmation of your prescription. Once they approve the request, your order will be shipped to you.

What if I can’t find my optician in the list?

If your prescriber isn’t on our website, simply email us at support@funkylenses.com with your optician’s name, their practice, and contact email. We will then promptly input their information into our system so that you can perform your Rx check.

What if my request is denied?

Your Rx Verification may be denied for a number of reasons:

  • Your prescription is wrong

  • Your prescription has expired

  • Your provider believes that the lenses are wrong for your eyes

If your request is denied, you can always attempt your purchase again. However, we advise our customers to inquire about the nature of the rejected verification BEFORE placing another order. This way, you are able to remedy any mistakes or renew your prescription, and you won’t risk your request getting rejected again.

PLEASE NOTE: Rx Verification applies only to orders out of the US. For any questions on the process, check out our ‘Rx Information’ page, which goes over the entire process, and if you want to find out more about prescription lenses, you can browse our handy Care Guides, which go over everything you need to know.
