Can I find cheap contact lenses?
If you’re looking to find gorgeous contact lenses on a budget, Funky Lenses is the best way to go!
We have a huge range of cheap and affordable contact lenses, and we never sacrifice on quality. Of course, some lenses are cheaper than others. Our daily, single-use styles start cheaper, perfect for trying out a pair of lenses for the first time. Meanwhile, our Monthly and 90-day lenses are more expensive. This might seem steep, but remember that you’re paying for multiple uses, giving you weeks of fun looks with just a single product.
And with our ongoing sales, you’re sure to always find deals and promotions to make your purchase even sweeter. Check out our Sale sectiontoday, and pick out multiple pairs on offer!
Can I find prescription contact lenses?
At Funky Lenses, we provide plenty of Prescription styles in many different strengths. Just check out our Prescription Contact Lenses page here, and filter for the correct prescriptive strength for you!
A lot of our regular styles are available in prescription varieties, with plenty of natural styles as well as costume and novelty styles available.
It’s always good to check your prescription with your optician, so that you can find the lenses that work best for your eyes.
PLEASE NOTE: our US customers will require a Rx Verification to purchase prescription lenses.
Can I find contact lenses with my measurements?
Our lenses can also be filtered by measurements. While all of our lenses will usually measure a standard 8.6 in base curve, the diameter of lenses will differ slightly depending on the style and make.
Some specific styles, like our Mini Sclera lenses, purposefully feature a wider diameter to achieve a wide-eyed, unnatural effect.
Just as with your prescription, it’s always recommended to check your measurements with your optician before you purchase a pair of contact lenses. That way, you can be sure that you’re picking out the perfect lenses for your eyes.
Can I find lenses for my dark eyes?
Our dark-eyed customers often ask us if the lenses they choose will be visible over their dark eyes. This is a valid concern, as some lenses are thinner than others and will easily fade over darker brown eyes.
For this reason, we have created our ‘Lenses for Dark Eyes’ section, which contains only thicker, more pigmented lenses. All of these lenses will be better for covering your natural eye colour, allowing you to have just as dramatic an impact as anyone else.
You can also check the Tint Scale on each product page to get an idea of how pigmented each lens is.
Why do the lenses look different on me than they did on the website?
As we’ve explained above, some contact lenses are thinner than others and will be less visible over dark eyes. This means that some lenses may have a different visual impact in real life than on the website, depending on your eye colour.
The best way to avoid this is to make sure you’re browsing lenses for your specific eye colour, and checking the scales and the graphics on each product page, which will tell you everything you need to know about the contact lens.
What is a contact lens expiry date?
You’ll find the expiry date of your contact lenses on the top of their packaging. Just like with any product, this refers to the date that the lenses will expire. After this date, you MUST NOT wear the lenses any longer, and should throw them out.
Your lenses should always have a wide margin between your purchase and the expiry date, but you should always check the expiry date before your first use, just in case.
What is a contact lens duration?
Contact lens duration refers to the amount of time that you can use the lens for. The shortest duration available on our website is 1 day. These daily lenses are single-use; you may use them once only, and then dispose of them. If you’re looking to use the same pair of contact lenses again and again, you can take a look at our 30-day or 90-day ranges. 30-day lenses last for a month, while 90-day lenses last for three months.
PLEASE NOTE: these durations refer to consecutive days from opening, rather than days of use. For instance, if you open a 30-day pair on the first of the month, you must throw it out exactly 30 days later, at the end of the month, no matter how many times you used it.
Important: No matter what the duration of your lenses is, you should only ever wear them for 8 hours at a time to avoid irritating your eyes.
How do I look after my contact lenses?
There are a lot of things to learn about looking after your contact lenses. If you’ve never worn lenses before, this may seem a little complicated, but don’t panic!
On our website, we’ve got a whole list of articles created specifically to help you with contact lens care. Check them out here for everything from lens durations to troubleshooting discomfort.
Here are the main DOs and DON’Ts for contact lenses:
DO check your lenses for damage and debris before putting them in your eyes.
DO always handle lenses with clean hands.
DO soak lenses in eye-safe solution for 2 hours before your first wear.
DO clean lenses with eye-safe solution in between uses.
DO store lenses in sterile contact lens cases.
DON’T ever wear your lenses for longer than 8 consecutive hours.
DON’T ever wear your lenses if they are dirty or damaged.
DON’T ever wear your lenses past their duration cut-off, or past their expiration date.
Can I find safe contact lenses?
All of the lenses on our Funky Lenses website are completely safe for your eyes. We sell contact lenses from high-quality brands, and all of our products are FDA-approved and CE-marked. Just remember to look after your lenses properly, and if you have any concerns about the suitability of our lenses, you can always double-check with your optician.
Why do contact lenses hurt my eyes?
There are many different reasons why contact lenses may be irritating your eyes. If this is happening to you, we suggest asking a few troubleshooting questions before you panic. For instance:
Are the lenses clean and undamaged?
Were they soaked in eye-safe solution prior to your use? This is to eliminate the remnants of the stronger solution present in the packaging, which can be irritating to the eyes.
Are your hands clean?
Are the lenses inserted the right way up and not inverted (U-shaped rather than V-shaped)?
Did you check that the lens measurements and prescription are right for your eyes?
Did you check that the lens duration and expiry date seem right?
If everything seems in order, you can wash the lens with eye-safe solution again and try inserting it once more, blinking gently to allow it to settle.
Still hurting? Remove the contact lenses, and contact your optician for advice.
What are UV lenses?
Our UV-Reactive lenses are big bestsellers; with their gorgeous, glowing colours and fun designs, these lenses are always a favourite. Just make sure you know what they actually are; UV Lenses DO NOT glow in the dark.
They are UV-Reactive, which means that they will only glow under UV light (a blacklight). This is due to their UV-Reactive pigment, which is locked between the layers of contact lens material. These lenses have all the bright colours of regular cosplay styles, with the added bonus of a UV glow to remember!
Wear them to blacklight raves and costume parties for the perfect accessory that will make everyone jealous.
What are Blind/Mesh Lenses?
Blind or Mesh lenses are another big category of cosplay lenses, perfect for the spooky season and for scary costumes. Their wide coverage completely covers the pupil hole, giving you an unnatural, undead look.
PLEASE NOTE: These lenses completely cover your pupils. This means that you WILL NOT be able to see while wearing them. Therefore, you MUST NOT wear them while driving, or while doing anything else where clear vision is key. Perfect for indoor photoshoots and picture-perfect cosplays, these lenses aren’t ideal for a night out on the town. We recommend making the most of our sales and purchasing the same colour of lens in a blind style and regular cosplay style, so that you can switch them out when you require more visibility.
